Notes:
An geometric transformation takes place in other Hightower themes.
The "turkey cock" gorgets of the Hightower style are transformed into the almost abstract, geometric forms of the Hixon style.
Interestingly, however, the geometric kinds of transformations in this thematic representation are generally NOT parallel to those baroque changes that occurred in the formation of the anthropomorphic gorget themes. The tracing of these alterations in style is one that is fascinating ground for trying to understand why and how this difference occurred, but the problem is too complex to be covered here.
